About Narasimha Jayanti

Narasimha Jayanti falls on Vaishakha Shukla Chaturdashi and marks the day Vishnu appeared as Narasimha, half man and half lion, to protect Prahlada from Hiranyakashipu. He appeared at dusk, so the puja is held at Sayankal, before sunset, and devotees fast until the next morning.
