About Buddha Purnima

Buddha Purnima is the full moon of Vaishakha. It marks the birth of Gautama Buddha and, in Buddhist tradition, also his enlightenment and passing. People observe it with prayers, readings, lamps and offerings at viharas and temples, and with acts of charity.
